About me

I build things
so they work.

I'm Julián Fuentes, IT engineer based in Spain. Over two decades solving problems with systems, code, parts or whatever tool fits the day.

How I work

My day-to-day revolves around enterprise IT: systems administration, networking, virtualization and cloud. But the pattern is always the same — understand the real problem, design a solution that holds together on its own, and leave it automated so the next person who touches it can do something more useful with their time.

After hours I apply the same logic to my own projects. I have four digital products in production that I personally maintain, my own infrastructure across two servers with a private registry, and a handful of physical projects where the tool changes but the question doesn't: how do we make this actually work well?

What I enjoy

What I enjoy most is the mix. Going from code to a screwdriver in the same afternoon. Diagnosing a network in the morning, modelling a part at lunchtime and debugging a microcontroller at night. Each discipline informs the others, and the solution often lives at the intersection.

  • My own digital products: Enerxus, F3DSpace, Tupetate. I design, build and operate each one end-to-end.
  • Club 306: a community and website I have been running for more than 20 years. It started as a meeting point with other people who shared a taste for the car; I became its webmaster and full-time maintainer.
  • 3D printing: a utility tool. I use it to fix things and solve concrete day-to-day problems — mine, those around me, or whatever people ask for.
  • Mechanics: I do everything to my car I can do myself. I like understanding what is going on before I have to pay someone else to do it.
  • Hardware and IoT: sensors, microcontrollers and automations. Hardware that reads the world and reacts to it.
  • Slot circuit: the hobby where electronics, computing and handcraft came together in a single project.
  • Self-hosted infra: two servers with CI/CD, backups and monitoring. The foundation everything else runs on.
