Case study
F3DSpace
On-demand 3D printing studio with an in-house platform, multi-channel catalog and an image-to-STL converter for instant quotes.

Context
Custom 3D-printed parts remain an opaque process: you email a request, wait a couple of days, get a PDF back, and have no visibility on cost until the conversation is half-closed. Marketplaces (Amazon, Etsy) cover the standard catalog, but bespoke jobs are pure friction.
What I built
F3DSpace is both store and service. The platform covers a standard parts catalog synced to Amazon and Etsy, plus an on-demand flow where the customer uploads a file or describes an idea. The key piece is the image-to-STL converter: the customer drags in a photo, gets a 3D preview rendered with Three.js and an instant quote.
Technical details
- Next.js 16 with App Router for the frontend and backoffice.
- Three.js / React Three Fiber for 3D previews and STL visualization.
- Prisma + PostgreSQL for catalog, orders and manufacturing workflow.
- Stripe Checkout for payments; Amazon and Etsy integrations for stock sync.
- Bilingual ES/EN, dark mode, PWA and everything orchestrated by Docker.
Status
Live from Madrid at f3dspace.com, with 48–72 h shipping. The multi-channel catalog and the on-demand flow coexist and each pulls its weight: the first brings stable volume, the second margin and differentiation.
